
Noah Sisson from Highlands Grove Elementary is among the winners of Florida’s America250FL art and essay contest.
Sisson, a fourth grader, won for his artwork titled “Palm Tree Promised Land.” He was recognized with the other contest winners during a reception at the Governor’s Mansion in Tallahassee.
The America250FL art and essay contest was open to students throughout the state. Six students in grades K-5 and eight middle and high school students in grades 6-12 won a college scholarship provided by the Florida Prepaid College Foundation.
America250FL, sponsored by the Florida Department of Education and Volunteer Florida, celebrates the 250th anniversary of the United States.
